ELECTRICAL, one of the largest energy companies currently operating in Romania, announces the completion and commissioning of the Satu Mare 2 photovoltaic park, a strategic project that marks an important step in diversifying the production portfolio and consolidating the company's role in the energy transition.

ELECTRICAL states that, located near Botiz commune, Satu Mare county, the facility has an installed capacity of 27,056 MW and represents an investment of over 20 million euros. The company specifies that the project benefited from partial financing through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, being designed for rapid and secure integration into the energy system.

ELECTRICA also explains that the complex includes a 27,056 MW photovoltaic power plant, a 110/20 kV user transformer station and connection works to the distribution network. Through its commissioning, the company aims to increase the share of renewable energy in the Group's energy mix, with direct effects on reducing carbon emissions.

At the same time, the new capacity is intended to provide clean and affordable energy for local communities and the national economy, while strengthening the Group's declared sustainability objectives.

In a statement sent on the occasion of the completion of the project, Alexandru Chirita, CEO of ELECTRICA, stated that Satu Mare 2 represents more than an investment, being concrete proof of the company's commitment to Romania's sustainable future.

In its vision, the project shows that financing opportunities can be transformed into investments with direct impact on communities and the environment. The management announces the continuation of the development of similar initiatives, to increase production capacities from renewable sources, reduce the carbon footprint and strengthen Romania's position in the energy transition.

ELECTRICA emphasizes that the operationalization of the Satu Mare 2 photovoltaic park strengthens the Group's long-term strategic direction, oriented towards the development of sustainable projects, the diversification of the production portfolio and the integration of modern technologies.

The company's approach aims to meet efficiency and environmental requirements, while maintaining operational safety and investment discipline. The experience and data resulting from this project will be leveraged in the new announced development stages.

ELECTRICA reaffirms its role as a trusted partner in achieving national and European decarbonization objectives. The expansion of the green production portfolio is presented as support for a greener and more competitive economy, with visible benefits for end users.

ELECTRICA emphasizes that the delivery of clean, safe and affordable energy remains a central objective, and the associated infrastructure, from the 110/20 kV station to the connection works, is essential for the safe integration of photovoltaic production into the grid.

The Satu Mare 2 photovoltaic park thus becomes a landmark for the company's plans to diversify its production and support the energy transition objectives. With an installed capacity of 27,056 MW and an investment of over 20 million euros, partially supported by the PNRR, the project configures an implementation model that ELECTRICA is considering for future stages.

For ELECTRICA, the project confirms the announced investment pace and functions as a platform for expanding photovoltaic capacities in the production portfolio. The company believes that the mix between its own investment and the support obtained through the PNRR provides the necessary framework for the responsible implementation of efficient and safe solutions.
